Speaking at the signing ceremony, HAGL president Mr. Duc said Cong Phuong’s monthly salary in Sint-Truidens is equal to a yearly salary of a Vietnamese player.
On the morning of July 5, Nguyen Cong Phuong signed a 1-year contract for Sint-Truidense V.V club. All details are not announced, however, Mr. Duc discloses Cong Phuong's salary a month is as high as the salary of domestic players in one year.
Mr. Duc shared: "We must pick out the best environment and perk for Cong Phuong. His salary per month is like a domestic player's annual salary in Vietnam, so why do I disagree? One player like Cong Phuong is equal to 12 players”.
Some sources have revealed that Cong Phuong only receives 15-20 million dong / month at HAGL. When moving to Incheon United, the striker received a more generous remuneration with about $ 10,000 a month. However, Sint-Truidense pays Cong Phuong 2-3 times higher.
According to Transfermarkt's valuation, Cong Phuong has a transfer price of 150,000 euros (nearly 4 billion dong). The total value of Sint-Truidense club is 27.5 million euros. The most expensive player in the current squad is midfielder Takehiro Tomiyasu (Japan) for 9 million euros.
